Lithium-ion cordless angle grinders have become a common tool for metal processing, stone grinding, pipe cutting and other scenes due to their advantages such as no power cord, strong power, portability and flexibility. Compared with traditional wired angle grinders, it does not need to rely on power sockets, and the body weight is generally 3-4 kg. It can be easily operated whether it is at an outdoor construction site or in a narrow space indoors. Mastering the standardized use method can not only ensure the safety of operation, but also improve the accuracy and efficiency of operation.
The preparation work before use needs to take into account both equipment inspection and scene adaptation. First check the status of the equipment: confirm that the battery power is sufficient (it is recommended to keep the power above 70% to avoid unstable speed due to low power); check whether the grinding disc or cutting disc is firmly installed, whether there are cracks, deformation, etc. - when installing, use a special wrench to fix the flange to ensure that the grinding disc is concentric with the spindle; check whether the switch is sensitive, whether it can start quickly after pressing, and whether it stops immediately after releasing. Secondly, choose the grinding tool according to the operation requirements: resin grinding wheel is suitable for metal cutting (such as steel bars and steel pipes), diamond grinding wheel is suitable for stone grinding (such as marble and concrete), and wire wheel can be used for rust removal on metal surfaces. In addition, it is necessary to clean up the debris in the operation area, especially flammable items (such as paint and gasoline), and lay anti-slip mats on the ground to prevent the equipment from sliding.
The core operation steps must follow the principle of "steady grip and slow progress, from shallow to deep". When starting, first hold the angle grinder with both hands - one hand holds the front handle and the other hand holds the rear switch, keep the grinding disc away from the body and others, press the switch and wait until the grinding disc reaches the rated speed before contacting the workpiece. When operating, keep the grinding disc at an angle of 15-30 degrees to the workpiece, avoid vertical pressing to prevent the grinding disc from overloading and breaking. When cutting thicker metal materials, the "segmented cutting method" should be used: first cut a shallow mark on the surface of the workpiece, and then gradually deepen it, pausing every 3-5 seconds of cutting to allow the grinding disc to cool down. If sparks fly abnormally or the machine vibrates more during grinding, the machine must be stopped and checked immediately to eliminate problems such as loose grinding discs or stuck workpieces.
When using, focus on safety and equipment protection. Operators must wear a full set of protective equipment, including anti-impact goggles, anti-cut gloves, dust masks and non-slip work shoes. People with long hair must put their hair into the safety helmet. Loose clothing is prohibited to prevent the grinding disc from being caught. Keep your body stable during operation and avoid standing in the tangent direction of the grinding disc to prevent the fragments from breaking and injuring people. The optimal operating temperature of lithium-ion cordless angle grinders is 0-40℃. Continuous operation in high temperature environment should not exceed 20 minutes, and the machine must be stopped for heat dissipation; if operating in a humid environment, moisture must be prevented from entering the battery interface, and the machine body must be dried in time after operation.
Daily maintenance is the key to extending the life of the equipment. After each use, you need to clean the dust and debris on the surface of the machine body, and use a brush to clean the vents to prevent blockage and affect heat dissipation; remove the grinding disc and check its wear. If there is a gap on the edge of the grinding disc or the thickness is reduced by 1/3, it needs to be replaced in time; the battery needs to be charged with the original charger, and the power supply should be disconnected in time after it is fully charged. When not in use for a long time, keep the power at 40% - 50%, and store it in a dry and ventilated place. Check the spindle bearing regularly. If you find abnormal noise or jamming when rotating, you need to add special lubricating oil, and contact a professional for repair if necessary.
